Risk-on sentiment allowed IAU to post 0.52% gain today

A quick look at today: after ending yesterday at $36.75, iShares Gold Trust went up to $36.95 only to drop back, yet still traded well overall and closed at $36.94 today.

Nevertheless, following a previous reading of 8.41 million, Crude Oil Inventories in United States released today at 15:30 UTC fell short of the 971,000 figure expected by analysts with an actual reading of 533,000.

Meanwhile, United States 5-Year Note Auction released today at 18:00 UTC with a figure of 3.53, while the previous figure was 3.973. United States Cushing Crude Oil Inventories came out at 4.27 million.

Other markets are also showing gains as AT&T is trading around $20.42 after ending today's session at $19.16 (up 6.58% today).

Meanwhile, NextEra Energy is down to $76.59, losing $7.31, after ending the previous session around $83.9. HDFC Bank Limited is down to $66.93, losing $4.51, after ending the previous session around $71.44.

Also worthy of note, United States Core Durable Goods Orders projected to come out at -0.2% — worse than previous data of 0.1%; data will be released tomorrow at 13:30 UTC. Tomorrow at 13:30 UTC data for United States GDP will be released, with an expected decline to 2.6 from the preceding figure of 3.2. Projections for United States Initial Jobless Claims are set for a continuation of decline with 205,000 while previous data was 190,000; data will be released tomorrow at 13:30 UTC.

The fund has been trending positively for about 3 months. IShares Gold Trust has gained 5.36% since its lowest print of $30.82 earlier this year.
