US markets end yesterday lower alongside bearish sentiment in Asia-Pacific indices

  • Zai Lab was the biggest decliner after giving up 12.68% yesterday As things stand, Sotera Health (down 10.73%) and iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) are underperforming today
  • Asia-Pacific markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session.

Before today's session: leading equity indices in the US declined as Dow Jones shed 1.7% and closed at 30,184. S&P 500 lost 1.71% and ended the session at 3,790. After dropping 1.79%, Nasdaq closed at 11,220.

US markets are currently closed but will resume today in around 10 hours time. Asia-Pacific markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session. European markets closed higher yesterday whilst FTSE is up by 0.63%, hitting 7,237.64.

The earnings season is coming to an end and General Mills Inc and Autozone Inc have release their reports.

Market's down-tick coincides with some negative macro data published earlier as highly important Crude Oil Inventories data from United States beat analyst expectations of 2.16 million with a reading of 1.14 million.

Meanwhile, United States Interest Rate released yesterday at 18:00 UTC with a figure of 3.25, while the previous figure was 2.5. United States Existing Home Sales (Aug) came out at 4.8 million, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 4.7 million.

Looking ahead, ongoing depreciation may be prolonged as today at 12:30 UTC data for United States Initial Jobless Claims will be released, with an expected decline to 218,000 from the preceding figure of 213,000.

Furthermore, United States Fed Chair Powell speech is scheduled for tomorrow at 18:00 UTC.

Yesterday's bearishness meant that Zai Lab lost 12.68% yesterday before closing at $42.89. As things stand, Sotera Health (down 10.73%), iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) are also underperforming today.

Sotera Health depreciates 10.73% with $7.16 as the low of the day

More of the same from yesterday's session: an influx of sellers pushed Sotera Health to end the session lower around $7.32, while establishing a $7.16 to $7.79 session range yesterday. Sotera Health's market cap is currently $2 billion with an average daily trading volume of 3.12 million shares.

Continuing its recent sideways trend, iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF closed at $25.35 after a flat day yesterday

Pointing in a similar direction, yesterday's session was more of the same — iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF closed a flat day of trading at $25.35 yesterday after ending Tuesday at $25.36.
