So Far, Tuesday Appears Optimistic

Equities in Europe rallied on Tuesday as traders turned optimistic, following some “diplomatic” news.

The foreign ministers of the Russian Federation and Ukraine had agreed to meet in Turkey, with Sergey Lavrov and Dmitro Kuleba set to meet later in the week on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter that he hoped the step would lead to “peace and stability”. The meeting would mark the highest-level contact between the two sides since 24 February, when Moscow started the special military operation in Ukraine..

At the time of writing, the German DAX was up more than 2%, trying to breach the psychological level of 13,000 EUR, while US stock indices moved higher.

Elsewhere, gold managed to settle above the 2,000 USD level, while the WTI oil continued in its vertical trend, attacking 125 USD again.

Later today, the fourth quarter revisions of EU GDP and employment change are due, while there is no significant macro news on the agenda during the US session.
