Tuesday Opens Green as Earnings Roll In

Traders, welcome to Tuesday. The market is gearing up for a busy week, and while the real macro fireworks start tomorrow, we already have a heavy earnings schedule to deal with today.

Big names like Visa, Procter & Gamble, AstraZeneca, Merck, Booking, Boeing, and Starbucks are on deck to release earnings — some before the bell, others after the market closes. This lineup alone is enough to fuel volatility across multiple sectors.

On the macro calendar, it’s lighter. The only notable data release is the JOLTS job openings report, expected at 7.5 million. That’s a decent figure, but it won’t move markets much on its own. All eyes are on Wednesday, which is shaping up to be one of the busiest data days of the quarter.

This morning, we’re seeing green on the screen. Major indices are climbing higher, following through on yesterday’s momentum.

In the currency market, the U.S. dollar is strong, while the euro continues to struggle. After failing to impress with recent trade developments, the euro remains under pressure. The New Zealand dollar is also underperforming this morning.

On the commodities front, oil is pushing higher after a solid session on Monday. But it’s a different story for metals — gold fell hard yesterday, and while we’re seeing a small bounce today, the short-term trend is clearly bearish.

Let’s see if these moves hold up through the session — and prepare for a big day tomorrow.
