US stocks continue higher, EU indices struggle

The Nasdaq 100 index was trading 1% higher during the London session on Monday, rising to new all-time highs, with other US indices trading stronger as well.

However, EU indices dropped after the London open, and it seems that the German DAX is having real troubles settling above the psychological level of 14,000 EUR.

Meanwhile, the USD ticked lower again as it looks like the bearish trend is still intact. The EURUSD pair was seen slightly below 1.22, while the USDJPY pair was near 103.70.

Later in the day, German IFO surveys are due, with investors expecting a slight decline amid the country’s never-ending lockdown.

Additionally, the ECB President Christine Lagarde participates in a virtual panel discussion titled “Restoring Economic Growth” at Davos 2021. Moreover, the BoE’s governor Andrew Bailey also has a speech today.

Silver and gold were trading lower in commodities, as usual, while copper and the WTI oil advanced notably, as their bullish trends remain intact and stable.
