BHP Billiton withdraws 0.5% ahead of quarterly report Tuesday

The resources giant is sliding down from $60.04 to $59.74, taking a 0.5% loss as it nears the end of the session.

With only 28 minutes of the current session remaining as we head towards the close on the New York Stock Exchange, S&P 500 trades sideways at 4,029.43. BHP Billiton is flat, while the Basic Materials sector seems to be doing slightly worse (-0.071%).

BHP Billiton trades at $59.74 ahead of quarterly performance report which is scheduled to be released Tuesday.

Having set a significant high of $79.3 a month ago, the mining, metals and petroleum multinational is trading 26.48% lower. The S&P has been doing worse in 2022, it has been passing it by 18.6%. The company's market cap is $151.18 billion with an average daily volume of 4.38 million shares.

Positive performances can be seen by looking at other materials stocks as Linde is up 0.43%.
