Markets are bullish as the trading day gets underway

  • European markets are trending positively as FTSE is up by 0.43%, hitting 7,223.39.

A new trading session is underway and the leading indices are showing gains — Dow Jones up 0.57%, trading at 30,882. S&P 500 up to 3,877.46, gaining 0.56%. Nasdaq goes up 0.33%, trading at 11,462.

European session in progress; markets are rising as FTSE added 0.43% to trade at 7,223.39. Asia-Pacific markets are down as ASX 200 is currently down 1.56% and trading around 6,700.2.

The earnings season is coming to an end and Adobe & General Mills Inc have release their reports.

Today's rise takes place amid mixed market indicators — United States Building Permits (Aug) released yesterday at 12:30 UTC with a figure of 1.52 million, while the previous figure was 1.69 million. United States API Weekly Crude Oil Stock came out at 1 million, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 2.32 million. Fresh 20-Year Bond Auction data from United States came out at 3.82.

Furthermore, the market is looking at today at 14:30 UTC data for United States Crude Oil Inventories will be released, with an expected decline to 2.16 million from the preceding figure of 2.44 million. Projections for United States Initial Jobless Claims are set for a continuation of decline with 218,000 while previous data was 213,000; data will be released tomorrow at 12:30 UTC.

Also worthy of note, United States Interest Rate is expected today at 18:00 UTC.

While indices are generally bullish today, some individual stock performances stood out as Bright Health trades at $1.22 having gained 2.1%.
