  • Sotera Health moves 12.16% halfway through the session As things stand, Bright Health (down 6.4%) and iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) are underperforming today
  • European markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session.

With the trading session well underway, the leading indices are falling — Dow Jones drawing back 0.8% to 30,771. S&P 500 slipping 0.71% and closing at 3,872. Nasdaq slipping 0.19% and closing at 11,500.

European markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session. Asia-Pacific markets are up as ASX 200 surges to 6,806.4 (up 1.29%).

The earnings season is coming to an end and Adobe and FedEx Corp have release their reports.

Amid the market gloom, United States Building Permits (Aug) released today at 12:30 UTC with a figure of 1.52 million, while the previous figure was 1.69 million. United States Housing Starts (Aug) came out at 1.57 million, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 1.45 million. Fresh Building Permits data from United States came out at -10%.

With markets struggling for positive sentiment, upcoming macro data could potentially attract buyers in the market as projections for United States Crude Oil Inventories are set for a continuation of decline with 2.32 million while previous data was 2.44 million; data will be released tomorrow at 14:30 UTC. As things stand, upcoming United States Initial Jobless Claims data is projected to fall short of market expectations with newly published data of 218,000, following on from the preceding figure of 213,000. New data is set to be published Thursday.

Furthermore, United States Interest Rate figure is projected at 3.25. It previously stood at 2.5; data will be released tomorrow at 18:00 UTC.
