Markets are down midway through the trading session

  • Nike & Micron Technology the latest companies to report earnings for Q2
  • Bright Health moves 4.46% halfway through the session
  • European markets are up as CAC moves up by 1.51%, reaching 5,762.34.

The trading session is well on its way, the leading indices were losing ground — Dow Jones drawing back 0.78% to 29,000. S&P 500 slipping 0.45% and closing at 3,624.

European session in progress; markets are rising as CAC moves up to 5,762.34 (up 1.51%). Asia-Pacific markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session.

The earnings season is coming to an end and Nike & Micron Technology have release their reports.

Markets are trading lower today despite some positive data published earlier as United States Initial Jobless Claims beat analyst expectations of 215,000 and the previous reading of 209,000 with new data of 193,000. Highly important GDP data from United States beat analyst expectations of -0.6 with a reading of -0.6.

Meanwhile, United States Core PCE Price Index (MoM) (Aug) came out at 0.6, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 0.5.

While markets are generally down so far today, some stocks outperformed such as Outbrain gained 3.19% to reach $3.73. GBP/NZD (up 0.949%).

Bright Health takes a hit, loses 4.46% of its value.

Today's session so far looks to be heading in a similar way — despite closing yesterday at $3.61 and then climbing as high as $3.75 today, Outbrain Inc. Common Stock has given up a sizeable portion of its gains to now trade at $3.73. The company's market cap is $207.63 million with an average daily trading volume of 468,668 shares.
