Markets have no obvious direction as trading reaches middle of session

  • Lufax tumbles 22.57% by midday IShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) has also underperformed today.

The trading session is well on its way, markets are mixed with Dow Jones up 0.49%, trading at 34,361. Nasdaq trades at 11,246 after losing 0.35%.

Ambiguous macro data is influencing the market as highly important Crude Oil Inventories data from United States beat analyst expectations of -1 million with a reading of -3.69 million. United States New Home Sales (Oct) released Wednesday with a figure of 632,000, while the previous figure was 588,000. Highly important Core Durable Goods Orders data from United States beat analyst expectations of 0.1% with a reading of 0.5%.

While markets are generally sideways so far today, these stocks are pulling ahead as Arrival up 14.82% trading at 38.36 cents.

Despite lacklustre price action, some stocks are lagging behind their peers as Lufax seems to be down today, losing 22.57% of its value. IShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) has also underperformed today.

Lufax currently down 22.57% prior to afternoon session

The Chinese personal financial services platform is trading close to the $1.35 level today, after ending Wednesday at $1.75 and dropping 22.57%. Lufax's market cap is currently $3 billion with an average daily trading volume of 15.85 million shares. So far in 2022, it has been under-performing the Nasdaq by 28.78%.

IShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF has been pretty quiet for the last a month, trading mostly flat and moving by only 0.02 cents on average.
