Qualcomm adds 0.43%; sets session high of $131.53

After dipping down to $127.7, the 5G mobile wireless technology developer regained earlier losses, reaching $131.26 as the end of the session nears.

With only 18 minutes of the current session remaining as we head towards the close on the NASDAQ, Nasdaq has lost 0.25% and is now trading at 11,300. S&P 500 suffers a 0.11% drop, trading at 4,012.55. Qualcomm's gains are in contrast to the Technology sector, which is down 0.315% as a whole.

This year has been a bright one for the wireless technology company after trading as low as $103.88 and going on to appreciate by 21.92% year to date. So far this year, it has been outperforming the Nasdaq by 13.56%. Currently, the 5G mobile wireless technology developer has a market capitalization of $146.64 billion with an average daily trading volume of 8.21 million shares. Qualcomm last reported revenue of $11.40 billion with an EPS of $2.74.

Just recently, Qualcomm's board disclosed a quarterly dividend of 75 cents per share and subsequently paid on Thursday, December 15th for all shareholders of record up until Thursday, December 1st. The company's decision thereby provides Qualcomm investors with an annualised dividend yield of 2.29% (based on current prices).

This rally in Qualcomm's share price coincides with other technology stocks as ASML Holding is trading at $680.6 after ending yesterday's session at $670 (up 1.58%).

Meanwhile, TSM is down to $92.68, losing 2%, after ending yesterday at $94.56. After closing the previous session (yesterday) at $177.04, Texas Instruments lost $2.48 and is trading around $174.56.
