Risk-off mood drags NYMEX Gas 4.72% lower

A quick look at yesterday: after a mostly steady day, NYMEX Gas lost 4.72% deep into the session, ending up at $2.2 per MMBtu.

Core Durable Goods Orders in United States fell short of market expectations (0%) with a reading of -0.2%, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 0.3%.

Amid the market gloom, United States Core PCE Price Index (MoM) (Apr) came out at 0.4, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 0.3. United States CFTC Crude Oil speculative net positions released yesterday at 20:30 UTC with a figure of 193,100, while the previous figure was 191,500.

Though NYMEX Natural Gas has been dropping, other Energy have been performing better: Crude Oil is trading around $72.87 after ending yesterday's session at $71.83 (up 1.45% today). Heating Oil is trading around $2.38 after ending yesterday's session at $2.35 (up 1.24% today). Brent Crude Oil went up by 1.21% yesterday, and closed at $77.18.

NYMEX Natural Gas has shed 68.79% over the past six months.
