The Cocoa future set for weak finish today; down 0.56% to $3,000 per metric tonne with 24 minutes before close

Cocoa is down to $3,000 per metric tonne, after ending yesterday at $3,017. Overall, a 0.56% loss or $17 today.

Following a previous reading of 0.3%, Core Durable Goods Orders in United States released today at 12:30 UTC fell short of the 0% figure expected by analysts with an actual reading of -0.2%. Highly important Pending Home Sales data from United States beat analyst expectations of 0.5% with a reading of 0%.

Amid the market gloom, United States Core PCE Price Index (MoM) (Apr) released today at 12:30 UTC with a figure of 0.4, while the previous figure was 0.3.

In the meantime, negative performances are also seen in other Softs as Coffee is down to $180.85, losing $1.85, after closing at $182.7 in the preceding trading session.

Though CME Cocoa has been dropping, other Softs have been performing better: Sugar is up 2.34%. Having closed the previous session at $80.12, Cotton is up 4.39% today to currently trade at around $83.64.

Cocoa has fallen back around 1.76% from the significant high of $3,071 set 7 days ago.
