The FTSE index sheds 12.36 points (-0.16%) as market bears take the reigns

A quick look at yesterday: the FTSE dipped as low as 7,710.78 before recovering some lost ground. However, the rebound failed to push the stock to where it started the session (7,757.36) with FTSE closing the day at 7,745.

While price action maintains a negative bias, United Kingdom PPI Input (MoM) (Dec) came out at -1.1, while a consensus of analysts was expecting -0.6.

In the meantime, negative performances are also seen in other markets, ASX 200 is down to 7,468.3, losing 22.1 points, after ending the previous session around 7,490.4.

Positive performances can be seen by looking at other markets as Hang Seng went up by 1.68% yesterday, and closed at 22,400. KOSPI Composite Index went up by 0.66% yesterday, and closed at 2,444.6.

Furthermore, United Kingdom Labour Productivity is scheduled for today at 09:30 UTC. United Kingdom CFTC GBP speculative net positions will be released tomorrow at 20:30 UTC.

The index has been trending positively for about a month. The FTSE is now trading 1.31% below the significant high of 7,860 it set around 10 days ago.
