The FTSE index sheds 12.36 points (-0.16%) as market bears take the reigns

A quick look at yesterday: the FTSE dipped as low as 7,710.78 before recovering some lost ground. However, the rebound failed to push the stock to where it started the session (7,757.36) with FTSE closing the day at 7,745.

Meanwhile, United Kingdom PPI Input (MoM) (Dec) released yesterday at 07:00 UTC with a figure of -1.1, while the previous figure was 0.6.

In the meantime, negative performances are also seen in other markets, ASX 200 is down to 7,468.3, losing 22.1 points, after ending the previous session around 7,490.4.

Positive performances can be seen by looking at other markets as KOSPI Composite Index is trading around 2,467 after ending yesterday's session at 2,428.57 (up 1.58% today). Hang Seng added 2.09% and closed around 22,045 yesterday.

Furthermore, United Kingdom Labour Productivity will be released today at 09:30 UTC. United Kingdom CFTC GBP speculative net positions is scheduled for tomorrow at 20:30 UTC.

The index has been trending positively for about a month. Over the past 10 days, the FTSE has retreated 1.31% from a noteworthy peak of 7,860.
