The Nikkei closed today at 27,400, after five straight days of gains

A quick look at today: with a daily low of 27,176, Nikkei closed today at 27,400, after ending yesterday at 27,300 and gaining 100 points (0.35%).

At the same time, Japan Services PMI came out at 52.4, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 51.4.

Other markets are also showing gains as KOSPI Composite Index is trading around 2,428.57 after ending today's session at 2,395.26 (up 1.39% today). Hang Seng added 1.82% and closed around 21,651 today.

At the same time, ASX 200 is down to 7,468.3, losing 22.1 points, after ending the previous session around 7,490.4.

Also worthy of note, Japan Tokyo Core CPI (YoY) (Jan) is expected tomorrow at 23:30 UTC. Japan CPI Tokyo Ex Food and Energy (MoM) (Jan) scheduled to come out tomorrow at 23:30 UTC.

The Nikkei hit a significant low of 15.42 around 4 months ago, but has since recovered 176,938%.
