Toyota levels up 0.34% in today's session; traders eye opening bell in 3 days time

A quick look at today: after closing yesterday at $139.6, Toyota closed at $140.08 today after climbing to $140.44 and dropping back down.

Toyota's uptick comes amid disappointing United States macroeconomic data released during the session – highly important Core Durable Goods Orders data from United States beat analyst expectations of 0% with a reading of -0.2%. United States Pending Home Sales fell short of the 0.5% projections, with new data of 0%.

Meanwhile, United States Core PCE Price Index (MoM) (Apr) came out at 0.4, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 0.3.

This rally in Toyota's share price coincided with other consumer discretionary stocks as Amazon was up 4.44%. Tesla traded at $193.17 after closing today's trading day at $184.47 (up 4.72%). Lowe's was up 2.73%.

The stock has been trending positively for about a month. Having soared to a high of $170.24 approximately 11 months ago, the Japanese automotive company is now trading 18% lower.
