Trading day in full swing, markets are up so far

  • European markets are trending positively as FTSE ascends by 0.63%, reaching 7,237.64.

With the trading session well underway, markets are up including news that S&P 500 up to 3,875.4, gaining 0.5%. Dow Jones goes up 0.37%, trading at 30,819. Nasdaq up to 11,478, gaining 0.47%.

European markets are up as FTSE ascends to 7,237.64 (up 0.63%). Asia-Pacific markets are dropping as ASX 200 is currently down 1.56% and trading around 6,700.2.

The earnings season is coming to an end and Adobe & General Mills Inc have release their reports.

On a negative note, the market received some disappointing news as Crude Oil Inventories in United States fell short of market expectations (2.16 million) with a reading of 1.14 million, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 2.44 million.

Today's rise takes place amid mixed market indicators — United States Existing Home Sales (Aug) released today at 14:00 UTC with a figure of 4.8 million, while the previous figure was 4.82 million. United States Building Permits (Aug) came out at 1.52 million, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 1.61 million.

Furthermore, the market is looking at United States Initial Jobless Claims projected to decline to 218,000 while previous data was 213,000; data will be released tomorrow at 12:30 UTC.

Also worthy of note, United States Interest Rate figure is projected at 3.25. It previously stood at 2.5; data will be released today at 18:00 UTC. United States FOMC Statement scheduled to come out today at 18:00 UTC.

While indices are generally bullish today, some individual stock performances stood out as General Mills trades at $80.52 having gained 6.78%.

Sotera Health is now trading at $7.43, moves 9.39%. IShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) has also underperformed today.
