Uber slides 2.9%; closes lower for five consecutive days

Friday at a glance: during Friday's session, Uber toiled and struggled for upward momentum before closing at $31.78. By the close, the the ride-sharing giant suffered a 95 cents or 2.9% loss.

  • Daily trading volume (25 million shares) was slightly above the current multiday average of 24.71 million.

Uber closed lower Friday, with similar drops noticed throughout the Technology sector (down 0.307%).

The ride-sharing heavyweight has managed to gain 20% so far this year despite trading at lows around $20.46 previously. The company's market cap currently stands at $63.87 billion with an average daily trading volume of 24.71 million shares. Uber has a forecast of $8.13 billion with an EPS of -21 cents.

Uber was not the only decliner in the technology sector; Accenture plc Class A (Ireland) went down 1.15%, closed at $252.92.

On the other hand, positive performances could be seen by looking at other technology stocks as Microsoft added 1.17% to its value, and traded at $279.43. Adobe was up 1.37%.
