Upwardly mobile Aussie-Dollar extends gains by 42 pips; closes session 0.61% higher

While Aussie-Dollar is up today, these currencies are lagging behind: USD/JPY is down to 131.8, losing 178 pips, after ending the previous session around 133.59. After ending Friday's session at 1.3456, USD/SGD lost 59 pips and is trading around 1.3397. EUR/NZD is down to 1.7009, losing 127 pips, after ending the previous session around 1.7137.

Also worthy of note, Australia RBA Assist Gov Kent speech set for today at 22:10 UTC.

The currency pair has been trending lower for about 28 days. As things stand, Aussie-Dollar is 7.15% away from a significant low of 0.6213 first set 5 months ago.
