Upwardly mobile Euro-Yen extends gains by 64 pips; closes session 0.43% higher

A quick look at yesterday: after ending Thursday at 150.22, EUR/JPY went up to 150.93 only to drop back, yet still traded well overall and closed at 150.87 yesterday.

At the same time, Japan CFTC JPY speculative net positions released yesterday at 20:30 UTC with a figure of -80,700, while the previous figure was -64,800. Fresh CFTC EUR speculative net positions data from Euro Zone came out at 173,700. Data for France Jobseekers Total released yesterday at 10:00 UTC is better than expected with 2.80 million, but worse than previous figure of 2.79 million.

Other currencies are also rising as GBP/NZD jumps 0.52% yesterday and closed at 2.0311. GBP/JPY is trading around 173.63 after ending yesterday's session at 172.53 (up 0.64% today). USD/JPY is trading around 140.62 after ending yesterday's session at 140.05 (up 0.41% today).

This year has been a bright one for Euro-Yen after trading as low as 135.1 and going on to appreciate by 7.66% year to date.
