US markets end yesterday lower alongside bearish sentiment in Asia-Pacific indices

  • Sotera Health suffered relatively more than others yesterday after 16.58% dip As things stand, Taboola (down 5.86%) and Bright Health (down 4.8%) are underperforming today
  • Asia-Pacific markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session.

Before today's session: leading equity indices in the US declined as Dow Jones was down 1% before closing the session at 30,700. S&P 500 slipped 1.13% and closed at 3,856. Nasdaq closed at 11,425, a 0.95% change.

US markets are now currently closed and set to reopen today; meanwhile, Asia-Pacific markets are down as ASX 200 dips to 6,708.5 (down 1.44%). European markets were down yesterday as CAC is down by 1.35%, stumbles to 5,979.47

United States API Weekly Crude Oil Stock came out at 1 million, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 2.32 million. United States 20-Year Bond Auction released yesterday at 17:00 UTC with a figure of 3.82, while the previous figure was 3.38.

With markets struggling for positive sentiment, upcoming macro data could potentially attract buyers in the market as today at 14:30 UTC data for United States Crude Oil Inventories will be released, with an expected decline to 2.16 million from the preceding figure of 2.44 million. United States Initial Jobless Claims projected to come out at 218,000 — worse than previous data of 213,000; data will be released tomorrow at 12:30 UTC.

Furthermore, United States Interest Rate is expected today at 18:00 UTC.

Yesterday's bearishness affected individual stocks as Sotera Health lost 16.58% yesterday before closing at $8.2. As things stand, Taboola (down 5.86%), Bright Health (down 4.8%) are also underperforming today.
