Vanguard S&P 500 ETF set for weak finish today; down 0.18% to $367.09 with 8 minutes before close

As the current session draws to a close, Vanguard S&P 500 ETF remains in the $361.68 – $368.16 range after dropping 0.18%.

Following a previous reading of 8.41 million, Crude Oil Inventories in United States released today at 15:30 UTC fell short of the 971,000 figure expected by analysts with an actual reading of 533,000.

Meanwhile, United States 5-Year Note Auction released today at 18:00 UTC with a figure of 3.53, while the previous figure was 3.973. Fresh Cushing Crude Oil Inventories data from United States came out at 4.27 million.

In the meantime, negative performances are also seen in other markets, NextEra Energy plunges 8.51% to trade around $76.76. HDFC Bank Limited closed at $67.16 (down 6%).

Positive performances can be seen by looking at other markets as AT&T added 5.92% to its value, now trading at $20.3.

Looking ahead, ongoing depreciation may be prolonged as as things stand, upcoming United States Core Durable Goods Orders data is projected to fall short of market expectations with newly published data of -0.2%, following on from the preceding figure of 0.1%. New data is set to be published tomorrow at 13:30 UTC. Tomorrow at 13:30 UTC data for United States GDP will be released, with an expected decline to 2.6 from the preceding figure of 3.2. United States Initial Jobless Claims projected to come out at 205,000 — worse than previous data of 190,000; data will be released tomorrow at 13:30 UTC.

Vanguard S&P 500 ETF has managed to gain 5.07% so far this year despite trading at lows around $327.64 previously.
