Visa Inc. levels up 0.48% in today's session; traders eye opening bell in 17 hours time

Today at a glance: generally flat but with a slight bullish bias, Visa Inc. ranged between $221.17 and $224.97 before closing higher at $224.97.

Visa Inc.'s uptick comes amid disappointing United States macroeconomic data released during the session – United States Crude Oil Inventories fell short of the 971,000 projections, with new data of 533,000.

At the same time, United States 5-Year Note Auction released today at 18:00 UTC with a figure of 3.53, while the previous figure was 3.973. Fresh Cushing Crude Oil Inventories data from United States came out at 4.27 million.

A look at other financials stocks also showed bullish price action as Wells Fargo & Company was up 1.96%. HSBC Holdings was up 1.06%.

Visa Inc. went up today, yet these financials stocks did not follow — HDFC Bank Limited dips 6.3% today to close at $71.44.

Also worthy of note, United States Core Durable Goods Orders projected to come out at -0.2% — worse than previous data of 0.1%; data will be released tomorrow at 13:30 UTC. United States GDP expected to decline to 2.6 while its preceding data was 3.2, data will be available tomorrow at 13:30 UTC. Tomorrow at 13:30 UTC data for United States Initial Jobless Claims will be released, with an expected decline to 205,000 from the preceding figure of 190,000.

The stock has been trending positively for about a month. This year has been a bright one for the multinational financial services company after trading as low as $177.65 and going on to appreciate by 7.96% year to date.
