Weak sentiment sees Euro-Yen posting 0.15% loss

EUR/JPY slides down from 141.36 to 141.14 today, losing 21 pips (0.15%).

New Business Climate Index data from Germany matched market expectations with a reading of 90.2 — a positive step in contrast to previous data of 88.6 from last month.

Meanwhile, data for France Jobseekers Total released yesterday at 11:00 UTC is better than expected with 2.82 million, but worse than previous figure of 2.81 million. Data for Germany Business Expectations published yesterday at 09:00 UTC came out at 86.4, beating projections of 85 and showing improvement over the preceding figure of 83.2.

In the meantime, negative performances are seen in other pairs, GBP/JPY descends 0.18% to trade around 160.3. GBP/NZD draws back 0.13% to trade around 1.9105.

Though Euro-Yen has been dropping, other pairs have been performing better: USD/CAD is up 0.13%.

Furthermore, Euro Zone ECB President Lagarde speech scheduled to come out tomorrow at 10:30 UTC. Japan Tokyo Core CPI (YoY) (Jan) is scheduled for today at 23:30 UTC. Spain GDP figure is projected at 0.1. It previously stood at 0.1; data will be released tomorrow at 08:00 UTC.

Euro-Yen has managed to gain 1.36% so far this year despite trading at lows around 125.05 previously.
